Works produced between and during other projects
These works review the interdependence (and slippage of autonomy) of the idea, translation, reading and meaning (Gold Standard, 2007, Idea for Film, 1996, and Nice Type, 1996); as well as the disparity that exists between these definitions (Gray Area, 1997); as well as gestures of homage to Malevich (Black Square, 2004 and White on White, 2004); and to Kosuth and the argued history of conceptual art (Carbon Dating, 1996-97).
Discrete Works, 1985-1990
Works produced between and during other projects.
With the works from 1985-1988 I considered the landscape of advertising as propaganda (Target, 1985 and Landscape, 1988) and the didactic disposition of reading (Billboard, 1985 and Punctuation Marks, 1985).
Work produced in 1990 signaled a transitional step from the genre of image and text (Gray Eminence, 1990) to three-dimensional form derived from linguistic thought (Alphabet, 1990).
